Occupational Health and Safety in Hajj Health Services

Abstract
Health is the capital of the pilgrimage, without adequate health conditions, Hajj activities cannot run optimally. In addition, the implementation of the pilgrimage is carried out in different weather/environmental conditions from Indonesia. This will have an impact on the health of the pilgrims and is a risk factor for the recurrence of health problems of the pilgrims. Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) must be carried out in all workplaces, especially workplaces that have a risk of health hazards, including during the pilgrimage. The purpose of this study was to find out what OHS factors were in health services for pilgrims. This paper is a further analysis in 2021 from the research on Hajj health services conducted in 2019. This study uses a cross-sectional design using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The research will be conducted at three embarkations, namely Medan Embarkation (MES), Jakarta-Bekasi Embarkation (JKS) and Ujung Pandang Embarkation (UPG). The sample size is 300 people. The variables taken are individual characteristics, knowledge, attitudes and perceptions. Collecting quantitative data (characteristics and risk factors) interviews on hajj pilgrims, for quantitative data taken by in-depth interviews with relevant stakeholders. The result: the characteristics of the research respondents showed the highest number of pilgrims; age group 45 - <60 years, female gender, moderate education, and married status. Most of the congregation did not know about the term Istithaah health. But the congregation knows that physical and mental health and health checks are important. Efforts made by pilgrims to maintain health during Hajj by implementing clean and healthy living, using personal protective equipment, and avoiding fatigue.
