Journal History

Jurnal Persada Husada Indonesia (JPHI) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by STIKES Persada Husada Indonesia as a platform for disseminating research findings, scientific knowledge, and innovations in the field of health sciences. AAccording to the official historical record of JPHI, the journal was originally envisioned by Dr. Qomariah, S.KM., M.Med.Sc., an academic leader, reproductive health expert, and advocate for the advancement of scholarly publishing, whose vision was to foster a sustainable culture of scholarly publishing within health higher education institutions and to provide a platform for academics, researchers, healthcare professionals, and practitioners to disseminate quality scholarly work.

This vision was subsequently realized through the leadership and dedication of Diana Barsasella, S.KM., M.KM., Ph.D., who played a significant role in developing the journal management system, establishing editorial policies, strengthening the publication process, and continuously improving the journal's quality to meet national and international scholarly publishing standards.

The Founding Period (2014)

The year 2014 marked the official establishment of the Journal of Persada Husada Indonesia with the publication of its inaugural issue, Volume 1 Number 1. During its early years, the journal primarily published research conducted by academic staff of STIKES Persada Husada Indonesia in nursing, public health, and other health-related disciplines, reflecting the institution's commitment to promoting research and scientific publication.

The Strengthening Period (2015–2018)

Between 2015 and 2018, JPHI focused on strengthening its editorial management, expanding its network of authors and peer reviewers, and improving the scientific quality of published articles. During this period, the journal gradually attracted submissions from researchers affiliated with various universities, hospitals, and healthcare institutions throughout Indonesia, resulting in broader scientific coverage and increased academic collaboration.

The Development Period (2019–2022)

In response to the rapid advancement of digital scholarly publishing, JPHI implemented the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform to improve editorial efficiency, manuscript management, transparency, and accessibility for authors, reviewers, and readers. Continuous improvements were also made to editorial workflows, publication ethics, and manuscript quality assurance.

The Transformation Period (2023–2024)

During this period, the journal underwent significant transformation by strengthening its editorial policies, enhancing the double-blind peer review process, implementing internationally recognized publication ethics, assigning Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to published articles, and increasing the journal's visibility through national and international indexing services.

The Modernization Period (2025–2026)

The 2025–2026 period marked a significant milestone in the history of the Journal of Persada Husada Indonesia. In 2025, JPHI successfully obtained Rank 5 National Journal Accreditation (SINTA 5) awarded by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. This achievement recognized the journal's commitment to implementing sound editorial governance, maintaining a rigorous double-blind peer review process, upholding publication ethics, and consistently publishing high-quality scholarly articles.

During the same period, JPHI continued its modernization initiatives by strengthening its Open Journal Systems (OJS)-based editorial management, improving the journal website, refining publication policies, optimizing the implementation of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs), and expanding its visibility through national and international indexing services. These continuous improvements reflect the journal's long-term commitment to enhancing publication quality and advancing toward greater national and international recognition.

Since its establishment in 2014, Jurnal Persada Husada Indonesia has continuously evolved into a reputable scientific publication dedicated to academic integrity, scientific excellence, editorial transparency, and publication ethics. Guided by a spirit of innovation and continuous improvement, JPHI remains committed to advancing health sciences through the publication of high-quality research while supporting education, scientific development, evidence-based healthcare practice, and international academic collaboration.
