Health Examination for Hajj Pilgrims in Lumajang Regency

Abstract

Based on data from the Health Integrated Hajj Computerized System (Siskohatkes), almost every year around 60-67% of the total pilgrims who go to the holy land are classified as high risk groups (risti) which can endanger the safety and health of pilgrims in carrying out their worship on the holy land. The development of health and fitness checks for pilgrims has been carried out throughout Indonesia, one of which is in Lumajang Regency. This study aims to describe the flow of health checks for pilgrims in Lumajang Regency in 2019. This research is a follow-up analysis carried out in 2021, from the research on the Evaluation of the Implementation of the Health Policy of Indonesian Hajj Pilgrims in 2019. The research method used is operational research by taking quantitative and qualitative data. Qualitative data will be collected through FGDs across programs and related sectors as well as in-depth interviews. The information in this research is the District/City Health Office and Public Health Centers, the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion and the District/City Religious Offices, the Prov., District/City Health Offices, the Indonesian Hajj Health Association (AKHI), the Association of Indonesian Hajj Health Doctors (PERDOKHI), 2 community health centers for pilgrims (city/village) in Lumajang district. The first stage of health checks for prospective pilgrims are generally carried out 6 months before departure. The second stage of health examination in Lumajang Regency has been carried out in accordance with technical instructions. Risti's guidance has been carried out in accordance with technical instructions. The success of coaching in several areas has received support from non-governmental organizations including MUI, AKHI, KBIHU, PERDOKHI, IPHI, Indonesian Hajj Health Nurses Forum, Association of Hajj and Umrah Organizers (PPIU and PIHK) and travel agencies for Hajj/Umrah.
