Plagiarism Policy

Jurnal Persada Husada Indonesia (JPHI) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. All manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original works and free from plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, and other forms of research misconduct.

Originality Requirement

Authors are required to ensure that submitted manuscripts:

  • are original and have not been published previously in any language or medium;
  • are not under consideration for publication by another journal or publisher;
  • appropriately acknowledge and cite all sources of information, ideas, data, figures, and tables obtained from other works;
  • contain only properly quoted and referenced material where applicable.

Any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is considered unethical and unacceptable.

Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts are screened for textual similarity using plagiarism detection software before entering the peer-review process and, when necessary, after revision prior to publication.

The Editorial Office evaluates similarity reports carefully. Similarity percentages alone do not determine whether plagiarism has occurred; the nature, source, and context of overlapping text are also considered.

As a general guideline, manuscripts should have an overall similarity index of no more than 20%, excluding references, bibliography, quoted text, and commonly used methodological descriptions. Similarity from a single source should normally not exceed 5%. These thresholds serve as editorial guidance and do not automatically determine acceptance or rejection.

Editorial Actions

When significant similarity or suspected plagiarism is identified, the Editorial Board may take one or more of the following actions:

  • request clarification from the authors;
  • require revision and proper citation of overlapping content;
  • reject the manuscript before publication;
  • suspend the review process while an investigation is conducted;
  • retract a published article if plagiarism or other publication misconduct is confirmed.

The journal follows the recommendations and flowcharts of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) when handling suspected plagiarism and other ethical concerns.

Forms of Plagiarism

The journal considers the following practices to constitute plagiarism or publication misconduct:

  • Direct plagiarism (verbatim copying without appropriate attribution);
  • Mosaic or patchwork plagiarism;
  • Paraphrasing without proper acknowledgment;
  • Self-plagiarism or redundant publication without appropriate disclosure;
  • Duplicate submission or duplicate publication;
  • Unauthorized use of data, images, tables, or figures;
  • Inappropriate attribution of authorship.

Authors' Responsibility

Authors bear full responsibility for the originality of their manuscripts and for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted materials when required. Submission of a manuscript to JPHI indicates that all authors agree with the journal's plagiarism policy and publication ethics.
